I just upgraded to Kubuntu 8.04. I now have onscreen folder iconsYour question is a bit unclear. Do you mean "every dir that was in ~
for every directory in $HOME. I would like to get rid of the icons,
without getting rid of the directories.
now has a symlink in ~/Desktop/ , so KDE displays tons of dirs on the
desktop window"? If so, the solution is obvious, go to ~/Desktop/
bin MyMusic save squeak temp tmp
And those are the labels on the icons on the left side of my screen.
I want to get rid of those icons. 'tmp' is a link to temp. I checked
~/.kde, no Desktop directory there either.
This is really strange. I don't know what they've done in this kubuntu
release to mess with the normal KDE behavior. This stuff is *probably*
kept somewhere underneath ~/.kde/share/ , since I've heard reports from
the field that other Ubuntu releases do bizarre things like saving
people's mail in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/ . I would go to
~/.kde/share/ and do a grep -r MyMusic * and a find . -name MyMusic ,
and see what you get out of that.
