If someone came up with cli search string to locate the compatibility library enabling i386 Canon-Linux files on a Hardy AMD64 OS I would have far more room on my computer desk :) ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/bj/linux/

What happens if you try compiling these files on your 64-bit system? From what I've seen so far, it looks like most of the source code is from 2004 or earlier, so even if it compiles it might not support newer printers or newer versions of cups, libc, etc. Maybe someone who reads Japanese could translate the readme and faq files on that site. I might try babelfishing them. (hey, if google can be a verb, why not babelfish?)
Bill, no need for babelfish for just a looksee. Haven't checked this for
a long timme either but the i250 cups were still ok on my feistyi386
about a month ago, just backed up the debs and reinstalled every time
cups updated

Notice the Japanese site last modified the Linux data 02/05/08 so
Japanese Linux liason looks like it still has some sort of a pulse. Saw
a few .gz files amongst the .exe in the camera files also, Possibly
merely zipped docs, but probably worth a mention.
Me compile i386 on Hardy64? Tried to with Feisty 64 No thanks, maybe try
and understand before I do in 09. Never understood before I Do when I
got wed either, but that's another story.
