Is it possible to reformat (mkfs.ext3) at USB
thumb drive? Or, am I stuck with Fat32?
Many thanks,

or did it not work?
did it return an error when you tried?
did you Google for the answer?
do i have more questions?
sorry, i should not ask this manu questions... ;-)
Either you have tried it yourself, and you refuse to share your
experiences, in which case you are a ***; or else you haven't tried
it yourself, you do not know the answer, in which case you are an
idiot. Either way, you are wasting everybody's time.
To the OP: I have quite a few USB sticks myself which I formatted
as ext2. I did not use ext3, because for my purposes (backups) it is
not really necessary. But, ext2 works beautifully.
but who is the ***, or the idiot, who is not answering the original
question?
you are answering the question if 'ext3' can be used, with the answer
that it is poddible to use 'ext2'
so, if you want to call someone a ***, or an idiot, start looking at
yourself.. ;-)
You are such a fool and an ignorant. If you had a minimum
knowledge you would know that ext3 is just ext2 plus journaling. You would
also know that going from the former to the latter is trivial. You would
also know that if you can format as ext2 you can format as ext3. You would
also know why ext3 is not such a good idea for USB sticks. Finally, you
would also know that if you can't contribute anything to a thread other
than superciliously chastising the OP to do a google search, you would
just keep your fingers away from your keyboard.
i do know this, but does the OP have this knowledge?
Your fault, my ignorant friend, is not your ignorance. Your fault
is to post a rather insulting non-answer, looking on down on someone when
you don't know any more than they do.
Now crawl back to your little hole of stupidity and stay there
until you have learned how to give useful answers.
;-)
