So anyway, it was like, 11:08 CEST Jul 31 2008, you know? Oh, and, yeah,

R, actually it was you who got patronising and condescending when I
challenged your attitude that throwing mone at a problem wold make
it go away.

If I appeared patronising when I suggested you get a small UPS to fix
your power loss problems, then I apologise for my attitude. If you
feel I was out of line when I made slight fun of your "closing the
barn door" post, then I would have to say "lighten up, dude!".

You appear to have no idea about calculation of risk/benefit/cost.

In short you are a modern 'box ticker'

Your assessment of my qualifications notwithstanding, I do believe
you're wasting a lot of words just saying "I know better than you,
so there!", just like you're likely to be wasting a lot of time and
effort fixing problems when emergencies occur instead of trying to
avoid them occurring in the first place. I've worked at a place where
the former was commonplace, leading to us never catching up to the
queue of actual work waiting, so in my current assignments I try to
work towards the latter.

However. I really didn't mean to get into a whole argument with you,
and certainly not when you keep putting arguments in my mouth like an
UPS being the total and ultimate solution to all problems, so this is
me signing off, again, this time I guess about three posts too late.

Sorry about the noise.
