Just can't figure this one out . . . .
When Gimp comes up initially it comes up as a narrow vertical window
with tools on the top and detailed stuff on the bottom.
Well I mistakenly closed the bottom part and can't figure out how to
get it back - the bottom of the window is blank and details seem to
open a new window elseware on the desktop. Help!
Go to file->dialogs->tool options
That should open the dialog box with the options for whichever tool is
active. Then, drag it back to the blank bit. (not with the title bar, with
the rectangle with the tool name (e.g. rectangle select)
It should dock.
Also, is there a setting back to all initial defaults? OR turning off
a "save current settings" on exit? so I don't do this to myself
again.
Well, I dunno about that, but you could just delete the .gimp/ directory.
Then next time you start it, it'll create the directory again and everything
will be back to default.
(might be .gimp-2.4/)
