Higher cost is something I associate with Microsoft myself.
Day in, day out I take calls from windoze 'admins' asking me how to get their Microsoft 'AD' or 'Exchange' to work with our Linux mail relays. The usual response is 'Why don't you raise a case with Microsoft?'. The answer is 'Cost'.
If you really want a laugh, watch one try and get an ISA server working. That is a blast. You Linux guy just nips in and changes IPtables in a flash, your MCP is still googling for answers a week later. That's just one small part of the cost of Microsoft. You can dumb it down and make it easy, but you end up with dumbed down clueless admins.
Enter the stage the consultants - a higher bill and all they do is RTFM.
Ah. I had someone working for me once who made that very point 'You pay me a great deal of money to read the manuals and then tell other people what page to read themselves'
Mind you, it was the guy who used to WRITE the mnuals that irritated me he most.
Now he just publishes them, and we are friends again ;-)
