Hmmm, the decoder is there in Ubuntu, but it looks like an older version. You could download the source package from Debian and try building it. (Try version 0.8.2-1 from Debian Unstable).

We I started building but it means building a whole bunch of newer versions of installed packages.

I'll just wait to see if the problems with Adobe's version is ever solved on Intrepid. I assume I'll get sick of this and try again.
