Automation of Linux Shell Through SSH from Windows (C#)

Hope I word this right, here goes-
OK here's the heavy question- I need to automate a Linux machine. So far I've been working with Putty from an XP box. My boss wants the work I'm doing automated with C#. I was hoping Putty would have a nice API to use but no such luck. My programming skills are not so great (I'm learning) so I'd prefer not to have to write it all from scratch or take on too much for this first project. I've waited so long doing boring manual test work so I *really* want this to be a success. Maybe there is a SSH shell with an API I can write to?

I've researched a few days and found Ponderosa, Grenados, Sharp SSH, CygwinX. I don't know if any of these are good choices for what I'm trying to do. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

JR
