HI all
I am running Fedora 11 on my laptop with a 60G hard disk. I ordered a
bigger disk and would like to clone the whole system to the new disk.
Is there recommendation? I don't want to reinstall all the software
again. Thanks.
OTOH would it be a good time to upgrade to Fedora 12?
Answer depends where you want the extra space, and the existing partition
layout. Assuming yoiu're increasing data partition, you could create the
same partition layout on new drive with same size OS partitions, dd old
drive OS partitions to new drive, format the new, larger data partiton/s
and 'cp -a $old_data_partition $new_data_partition'.

Just realized that I put close instead of clone. Stupid typo.
Could you explain it in more detail? When I install Fedora 11 on the
60G hard disk.
I let everything automatically because I am a newbie on linux OS. Have
no idea about the
partitions.
The new disk is 320G. I will use 100G for Windows OS and 220G for
Fedora. Probably
I will repeat the installation as I did before.
