You don't have to compile from source, just install the binary
tarball. You could have several installed at the same time.
Last night Firefox fell over completely and refused to start with a
segmentation fault.
Hooray for total failure. Finally, something to get a grip on.
So I pulled ~/.mozilla/ and everything came good.
There was also a concurrent network failure, couldn't even talk to the
modem... Firefox related?
Doubtful; but at the time you walk around with your head in your hands
thinking WTF. Have I been hacked?
These things DO ALWAYS seem to happen late at night (23:00).
