Hi;
I currently use Ubuntu 10.10. I've heard horrible things about
Unity being built for tablet users, to the detriment of desktop PC
users. I've heard that GNOME 3 is going the same way. I'm keeping
an open mind. I will try Unity out with Ubuntus next LTS ( Long Term
Support ) edition.
If that or GNOME 3 doesn't work out for me I guess I will be looking a
new distro for the first time in about 8 years.
I have been with Ubuntu that long.
What are the top debian based, KDE centric distros these days?
I'm looking for a very, VERY end-user friendly, desktop user friendly
distro.
Eons ago SUSE used to be that. Is that the case with Open SUSE.
Has their update system, YAST improved to be as nice as what you get
with debian based distros?
Thanks in advance for any info
Thanks for all of the useful information guys.
It didn't even occur to me to consider the KDE as an option should I
really hate Unity or GNOME 3. I think that is how I will go if I
don't like Unity. LUbuntu is *nice*, a little bit more than just an
window manager, but I have been getting spoiled as a desktop user :)
Thanks again
