is westell's dsl modem assigned by bellsouth can be used in other isp(qwest)?

Dear linux dsl users:

  I had westell's wirespeed dsl modem assigned by bellsouth.net, can I
use it in other isp like qwest.net? since when I hit connect, it auto
paste bellsouth.net after myusername@qwest.net, it make it can not
success connect.
