It's perfectly possible to be logical AND extreme.

I'm not arguing the merit of your position --
just that someone with your views
is not really in a position to advise people on choice of computer,
since the vast majority of users do not share your beliefs.
 
Personally, my first step on acquiring a computer
is to shrink the Windows partition as much as possible
(5GB is my current ration.)
There are several reasons for keeping a Windows partition.
It is sometimes required for configuring or upgrading firmware.
If you have children, there are many games that do not run under Linux.
It is often useful to work out the correct configuration of devices
under Linux, eg by determining correct IRQ or IO ports.
It is useful as a check on hardware if something goes wrong under Linux.

I wouldn't purchase Windows if I didn't have it;
on the other hand, if I did have it I wouldn't throw it away.
