I was given a free Microtest CD DiskPort Tower Model SP85-SMS9
It has 7 NEC Narrow Scsi Cd-rom drives inside along with a Scsi to
Ethernet bridgeboard which has both a RJ-45 and a BNC connector. I
connected it to my lan and it constantly queries for DHCP address.
Dhcpd keeps giving it one but it seems to be ignoring it. I heard it
may be for Novell Netware (IPX). Before I even begin settng up IPX.
does anyone know anything about the thing? For example:
Can it be set up to work via NFS? Baring that. how do I access
the drives from LINUX using IPX? Is there special passwords needed?
The drives are standard Scsi so I know I can use it with a
regular Scsi host adaptor but I would like to try it in its factory
configuration before I start making changes to the unit.
Now if I must use it with IPX does anyone have any
documentation on setting it up? Its a network based CD-rom server.
Trust me, seven CDs on my lan would be a godsend!
Now since it has 7 Scsi Cd drives is there a bridgeboard which
connects all 7 CDs as Drive addresses to Logical unit numbers? That
way I only need to set the box to one Scsi address say 3 and access
the drives as
Scsi ID Lun

If anyone has the original manual or photocopy of it and any
original software it needs. please email me.
Likewise if you have that Scsi converter that converts
addresses to LUNs.
