Can't see my DNS's

I have a static IP from Verizon. My gateway is setup in the interfaces file.
My two DSNs are setup in the resolv.conf file. I can ping the gateway but
not the DSNs. Everything works fine if I do the same setup on my Windows
box.

Any ideas?

Thanks as always.
