I am looking for recommendations for an IEEE 802.11a/b/g trimode card (for
laptop) that people have had
1) good experience with working well under RedHat Linux,
2) good experience using for analysis with Ethereal, Kismet, and other
wireless tools, and
3) good experience using for analyzing 802.11a, b, and g WLANs
I have a Proxim Orinoco trimode card (8480-WD), which works well under
Windows, but have NOT been able to get working under ReddHat Fedora Core 1
(yes, I have followed all directions on setting up an Atheros-based wireless
NIC under Linux; no go).
I need to get a trimode NIC that is proven to work reliably under Linux for
doing WLAN analysis, as mentioned above.
Thanks!
