What did you configure as smtp for Mozilla config?
I use both kmail to send/receive SBC mail, and pine with my local smtp.
One thing I notice is that either of them see saved mail files in my
~/Mail dir. Although, I think pine ignores kmail's inbox dir (pine's
inbox is /var/spool/mail/me).
So it could be that kmail and mozilla are sharing the same ~/Mail or
~/mail dir (unless you configure one of them differently). Although, each
of them should be able to use different pop3 servers. Whether they can
use different smtp relays depends upon whether your ISP blocks port 25,
and whether the one not for your internet connection accepts relaying from
you (which may or should require authentication).
