Let me first apologize tor multi posting. I posted this problem to
comp.os.linux.misc, and only now found that this group exist.
I just inserted new HDD into my pc (Cell @ 500 MHz), and installed
Fedora Core 1 (I have RH8 on my first HDD). I am in a process of
configuring things to be the way I want them to, but I am having problem
with network.
I can ping network addresses (ping 192.168.0.6 for example).
When I use Konqueror, and type address "smb://P6/SHARE" I have no
problem seeing and opening shared files and directories.
But when I try to mount a share in a LinNeighborhood, I get: "Can't
resolve address".
So I booted Knoppix on one of win boxes, configured network parameters
on Knoppix box, and I can ping FC1 box, but not telnet to it.
# telnet 192.168.0.1 119
Trying 192.168.0.1...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host. No route to host.
But if I reboot FC1 box (and boot RH8 instead of FC1) leafnode answers
on port 119 (no changes made to Knoppix box).
Any ideas where to look?
