wireless card and port forwarding

I have been running a netgear wg511 wireless card (mandrake 10.0)
connecting to a netgear MR814 router for some time now. The card works
great but I'm trying to set up port forwarding to my laptop on the
router. I have it set up to forward sshd on port 23 to the local IP of
my laptop, I've set this up before using a wired ethernet card on this
laptop and I'm wondering if there's anything I need to do differently.
When trying to ssh in from an external machine the request just
timeouts. Any help on where to go from here or how to troubleshoot this
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JH
