Most probably this really outdated Mandrake version doesn't have the
necessary drivers. Get a recent (Mdk10) one from a friend or @cheapbytes or
from your local LUG. However, if your laptop doesn't have at least 128MB
ram, you better forget about kde and use text install and a lightweight
window manager instead.
