hi,
hope this is the group for samba server.
im trying to set up a domain with samba3.x ( from suse9.2) as pdc and
windows xp sp2 clients.
i can access all shares all right,
but i did not manage to add any of those xp clients to the domain.

i created linuxusers for the clients, with the appropriate $ at the
end,
created smbusers ( with smbpasswd -m -a CLIENT) no $ at the end.
the server is master browser , os level 65, and domain master.
i added an entry into the local lmhosts file on the clients.
192.168.x.y server #PRE #DOM:DOMAIN

i get prompted for user and password to add the client to the domain.
enter "root" and rootpassword.
still the message is that the domain is not available.

where do i find log files? (/var/log/samba/*.log does not say
anything)
tcpdump shows that the client contacts the server allright,
seems the server does not consider itself master?
