I know of several e-commerce sites that use Squid in a reverse-proxy
configuration on top of Fedora...it works very, very well. Until a
problem developed while mucking with NIC trunking on the server, the
admin tells me that the uptime of the box was nearly 290 days. He also
made the mistake of not rotating out the logs, and the 32 counter limit
was reached on log file size. This was the only time Squid misbehaved.
Otherwise, it's as solid as a rock...I've never seen their site go down
in over a year since implementation.
Good luck!
