Me again,
I got it a bit further in my quest to run a DNS. I got it going with WEBMIN
& Domain name
system altogether to manage BIND DNS. I still don't understand why
named.conf is not in the /etc directory but it's working.
If someone is willing to answer it please feel free to help a poor man on
its own to learn about BIND-DNS.
I also have another question. I have followed instructions to have a DHCP
server to run and update BIND. Both servers are on the same machine. I want
to know how can I make sure that DHCP and the DNS talk each other.
When I ping say:
machine1 I have a reply but when I ping:
machine1.mydomain.forfun
nothing is resolved. Can I expect a reply from my DNS without entering every
machine by hand in my zone mydomain.forfun ?
