    Hi,
My Mandriva 2006 can't retain its connection to the local network and the
    Internet nor its routing table.

Initially, when I boot, all works fine for a few minutes. Afterwords, I
can't connect any other PC on local network, nor the Internet. Running
dhclient, solves the problem temporarily, for a few minutes more.

While no connection, /etc/resolv and routing table get changed.
IN addition, during boot, Mandriva tries to configure my FireWire Interface
as eth1 !! (Is this OK? seems weired to me).

Another problem ?, while connected traceroute to MY ISP (actcom.net.il)
couldn't complete and was terminated by myself after minutes !! (CTRL -C).
Can somebody explain me the output of raceroute below? hat are the ****? As
this is my ISP, I'd expect only 2 hops (local gw and ISP). instead I've got
    way too many. Why?

Also note (at the end) copy of segment of syslog. It complains about eth0
timeout, and contains hundreds of logs similar to the following: "kernel:
    printk: 3189 messages suppressed.
Nov 12 13:13:32 10 kernel: Neighbour table overflow." Can this be related t
the CUPS server? How can I remedy this problem?

Sorry for the LONG and detailed info. Can somebody answer my questions and
explain to me how to fix my configuration?

    Please advise (details below)

Thanks a lot in advance !

    ==============Details==========================
PC: AMD Athlon 64b/ 1GB RAM, 2 SATA HDs with integrated eth0 and firewire
    (IEE 1384).

Linux: Manriva 2006x86_64 (64 b version), fresh installed, download (ftp)
version, with ALL (security, bug and normal) updates installed. KDE 3.4
    environment.

Network: Several PCs on a 10.0.0.x LAN. ADSL modem, converted as router, on
10.0.0.138 acts as Internet gateway and DHCP server. (the modem has been
verified to stay connected to the ISP/Internet during ALL period tests and,
after the following tests had been completed, reported more than 100 hours
for current connection status). During these tests, only the tested PC
(10.0.0.1) was connected to the LAN with the minimum of services running.
Due to problems (ADSL router lack of support, Firefox, PAN and others),
I've disabled PV6 on that PC.

Firewall: Both the ADSL router runs a NAT/Firewall and the Mandriva runs the
default shorewall firewall as well (while connection failed, I temporarily
disabled shorewall without any change in my connectivity).
