Hello.
I am trying to slowly migrate my computing needs over from windows to linux
flavored OS such as Fedora, but I am having some issues along the way.
I have fedora core 4 installed on my pc up and running. What I would like
to do is to join this workstation to 2003 server, however I am not having
any luck. WinBind is installed in this pc and enabled. Nic are properly
working and I can ping / resolve the DC controller via ip or name.
When I issue the command via " net rpc join domainname -S -U administrator
I get an error stating invalid computer name.
I have given my box a proper name eg. fedora.domainname.local and have
created the name fedora in my DC 2003 controller.
What am I missing here? please advise a hardcore Noobie
.
