Does anyone know why a T1 would be used over something like a cable
company's broadband access at 8Mbps.
Some possibilities that come to mind:
1) Price.
2) Cable is a shared medium. If things get really busy, your share of the bandwidth could be less than a T1.
3) Security. As I understand it, someone who knows what they are doing could alter their hardware to read your traffic. Tapping into a T1 requires physical access, which is slightly harder.
