SSH into Fedora 5 box and have different desktop

When I SSH into my Fedora box I now have a different desktop on my
Fedora box. I could be logged into Linux box with user X and after I
initiate an SSH tunnel and perform startx from the ssh terminal. I have
the users desktop that I am logging in with at the SSH terminal. If I
kill the ssh connection it will go back to my original desktop.
