Fedora Core 5 tg3 dropping packets?

I suspect that the tg3 driver that comes with the latest Fedora Core 5 kernel (kernel-smp-2.6.17-1.2187_FC5 or 2174) is dropping packets. lspci identifies the hardware as

Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 01)

Anyone out there have experience (good or bad) with this combination?
