Dedicated DHCP server

Hi,

In a school we have two separate subnets for the students and a third physically separated net for administration and teachers.

I would like to set up a dedicated DHCP server for these nets so the users still have an IP if a domain controller or firewall quit.

1. Does it exist dedicated, small footprint DHCP server distros available?

2. Would it represent a security risk if I put three NICs in such a DHCP server and connect each NIC to the nets mentioned above..? (any chance for leaking something across from the teachers subnet)?

Thanks for comments
