Anybody have any idea how to prioritize Skype packets over other

I manage a small ISP and the outgoing bandwidth is limited and I need
to prioritize or otherwise optimize the latency etc.
Server runs stock RH 9 with iptables and tc (using HTB)
Any ideas would be helpfull, thanks.

I don't think there is a use of any such hack and, or trick; you are
trying to outsmart many routers over the Internet, which (Internet) is
and, or (routers) are beyond your control. May be, even the very next
hop will ignore all your priority tricks.

Well basically we are on a congested satellite link that has direct
access to the european backbone. So if I can somehow prioritize Skype
traffic over f.ex. ftp or http then that can help alot. It is
congested because satellite links are very expensive so we cant affor
to just upgrade th bandwidth. Since the bottleneck is our own outgoing
link then if we optimize it it will help. So how do I detect what
traffic is Skype?
Thanks.

Tobias
