No one has any advice on this?

It seems that maybe 30 percent of the time when I sftp into a remote
site to upload some files, the transfer is interrupted and I get a
"broken pipe" message.

Any clues/hints on why this happens or how I could troubleshoot it?

These are rathy lengthy transfers (several hours). Could it be that
when the DHCP lease is renewed there's a glitch?
