Re: Wireless and Ubuntu 7.04

As a new convert to Linux, I am enjoying the stability and the

The only issue I have been experiencing is my wireless will not grab
anything. It's an Intel 2200 BG chipset and regardless of network, WPA/
WEP, etc., it simply won't "go".

I've tried various avenues to get this to work, and so far, I've come
up empty-handed. When I perform iwlist scanning I receive "no scan
results" for eth1, which seems to have associated itself with my
wireless card. Furthermore in Network Tools I see a loopback address
for my wireless card in eth1/avahi but not in eth1.

I have upgrade wpa_supplicant to the latest version.

Any tips? Thanks in advance.

The driver for your wireless device is called iw2200 and it has been in Linux for a very long time and it should work. It is probably something small.

Whenever you have a problem with anything that might be kernel related, including drivers, you should always consult the output produced by the 'dmesg' command. If you find something you don't understand, you should post the appropriate section here.
