The TCP-IP protocol stack that we actually use does not
precisely follow OSI 7 Layer model for networking.

ISO TCP-IP

7 Appplication 4 Application
6 Presentation
5 Session
4 Transport 3 Transport
3 Network 2 Network
2 Data Link
1 Physical Link 1 Link

Routing to the destination is handled by the Network
layer, where a physical network address is determined
(for example, an Ethernet port) as per the IP address.
In the ISO model TCP or UDP would be chosen in the
Session layer, with the commonly used TCP-IP stack that
is part of the Transport Layer.
