I changed the monitor from the one which was present during Linux

tried with an LCD monitor but it didn't work. I thought there may be
incompatibility with the LCD . Now I connected a new CRT display ,
still the problems continue.
Thanks in advance.

In my experience, the best way to handle this is to look up the horizontal
and vertical refresh rates for the new monitor and edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
before you do the switch. Shut down, switch, reboot and it should be fine.
