After upgrading Ubuntu net manager stopped showing networks

I just upgrade from Ubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 and the network manager
stopped showing the networks and I can not connect to internet
anymore. I have a Atheros wireless network adapter that worked fine on
7.04.
