accessing subversion repository server through local vpn server

I have the following setup:

On my LAN:
local ubuntu rig I use for development
corporate dell laptop used to vpn into corporate network running XP
pro.

On the corporate WAN:
a subversion repository I want access to

Now what I want to do is be able to access the subversion repository,
which resides on the corporate WAN, from my ubuntu rig, without having
to load up my ubuntu rig with vpn client cruftware. It seems as
though I should be able to tunnel my requests for that specific
subversion repository (basically an http address) through the XP pro
corporate machine VPN'd into the corporate LAN. I'm not sure where to
start, or if there is a better way. Any ideas?

Thanks,
