Have a look at VectorLinux. Its Slackware based, so its stable, and I ran it
for some years without problem on a P-120 with 24 MB ram. It comes with Xfce
and IceWM as standard. KDE is available, but wouldn't run at any appreciable
speed on such a low spec machine. Most Slackware packages will install easily.
