2.6.5 boot freeze on Toshiba laptop

I've just compiled 2.6.5 on my Toshiba Satellite 115CS laptop (Pentium
100Mhz processor) and installed it... and now it won't boot. I can floppy
boot in via 2.4.22 (and I'm going to compile up 2.4.25 again), but 2.6.5's
not working.

I compiled it for Pentium Classic. It freezes right after the BIOS check
and VGA selection routine.
