Nothing compared to not being able to use the wheel.
Furthermore, I believe this is not specific to XP but to the BIOS so
there's probably nothing GNU/Linux can do about it.

Yes, I already have that, so my USB mouse works (including the wheel)
together with the PS/2 trackpoint just fine. My two problems are
slightly different.
