    Thanks Stefan for the info. Now, what I understand that, you've done a
    "net install" with a minimal cd install. Now in debian.org I found
    some unofficial net install images for the "stable" release at
    http://www.debian.org/CD/netinst/. I guess, for intel they have 4
    images ..

    for i386
               | - vanilla
               | - idepci
               | - compact
               | - bf2.4 (experimental)

    now, which one should i use? Should it survive on net connectivity
    over ppp?
