That's because plug'n' play is enabled in the bios. When enabled it works
great in Windows, because Windows is a pnp OS, but causes Linux not to
work.

Enter the BIOS using F1 at boot time, and disable "Quick Boot", and
ansaconf will find your card, no questions asked=)
