    Dear All,

    Just a quick newbe-like post/question...

I've got a new IBM Thinkpad T42 on the way, and I was looking to solicit
opinions on a linux distribution for this machine. I've looked on
http://www.linux-laptop.net/ and find a few hits in the T4x family, but I
was looking to see if anyone out here opine concerning linux on this
    hardware.

I am a long-time RH + Ximian (GNOME) user, so I am predisposed to try SUSE
9.1 and Ximian on this new machine. However, if anyone has any advise
(either up or down) on this or other hardware/distro combinations I would
appreciate receiving it (either directly or through the newsgroup).

Thanks in advance to all for their time in this matter. All best wishes.

    - Andy Boden
