How to change CPUID detection concerning Powernow

    Hi,

    I just modded my athlon XP processor (desktop). Now it should work
    like a mobile version and I may use the Powernow features.
    But the kernel detects the CPUID, which is still teeling it's a
    Desktop CPU, and therefore doesn't activate ACPI and Powernow.

    How should I go on ?

    find for CPUID occurences in the sources ?

    Anyone who may point me in the right direction ?
