My trusty old Win98 Laptop decided to crash, and I'm looking to install
a nice little Linux version on it.
I'm running Gentoo on my desktop, I do not really feel like compiling
much on that Pii 400MHz, with 128M of RAM.
Does anyone have any experience with Linux on a Presario like this?
Power mgmt, display drivers, etc are things I expect to struggle with.
I have a D-Link DWL-650+ Wireless card, that I hope to use.
I'm primarily looking to build me a lean mean surfin' machine.
Maybe DVD movies, MP3s, Sokoban, and such.
I have other machines for doing actual work...
I stumbled across MEPIS Linux the other day, I think that will be my
first attempt.
Distro suggestions welcome. Even FreeBSD.
