I have a ZE4805WM, which is an Athlon XP-M 2800+, combo DVD/CDRW drive,
14" XGA LCD, 256Mb RAM, 30Gb HDD, Ethernet, modem.
Pros:
* Plug and play operation with FC2 (except that suspend does not work,
I haven't had time to try debugging this. Also the volume controls on
the lower left side of the machine don't work, but they appear to be
mapped into the keyboard so should be relatively easy to get working in
Linux; again, I simply haven't bothered)
* Price
* Battery life is good
* Replacement batteries are readily available at <$100
* Love the internal loudspeakers
Cons:
* BIOS lock prevents you from installing third-party peripherals in the
MiniPCI slot. You have to use HP's WLAN card or the machine won't boot.
* Fairly bulky
* Confusing to find drivers on HP's web site. Some drivers that are
required for this model only appear under similar models in the same
series (e.g. ZE4805US). That might be a problem specific to this custom
version of the product, though.
