help with choosing the right linux distro for my new laptop

hello eveyone, i just bought a dell 700m laptop computer, it's very
nice and has nice features, it came with Windows Home Edition, but i'm
ready to take that out and put Linux, here are my questions:

1. the computer has Intel wireless pro network, does any distro
support this?
2. the native resolution of the screen is: 1280x800 - i need an X
window system that supports this
3. any recommendations?
