Are they still selling the 5150?
That is what I got last year to replace my 8200. I lease mine so I get a
new one every two years.
My 5150 has a 3.2 Ghz P4, 2 Gb of RAM, a 60 Gb high speed HD and the
UXGA 1600x1200 panel. I also have a 20 inch 1600x1200 external panel
that I connect in non-xinerama mode.
I run FC3 on it and it works just fine (save the non-hardware hardware
like the modem and wireless, etc.). For those I just use PCMCIA cards
You might want to check their web site to see what is available. FWIW,
FC3 supports the WUXGA screens, given the updates to xorg.
Depending upon what your timeline is, be aware that around this time
next year, the portable versions of the Intel dual-core chips should be
out. I am hoping that the timeline works out for when the lease on my
5150 is up.
