Sorry I've no idea how to solve your problem,
but your posting set me wondering about KWiFiManager.

I've never heard of this, and don't see it
on any of the KDE RPMs.
(I'm running Fedora-4.)
Where did you get it?
In any case, how does it compare with NetworkManager (NM),
which seems to be Fedora's preferred tool?
Is it maybe just a front-end for NM?

UH I'm running FC4 and it came with the full install for gnome under the Aplications Internet menu. It does not use NM. It works well but is less capable than NM but it is just a user space tool so you don't have to start anything at boot. If you're going to be going be in wifi situations where you need to know what all of the available choices are NM works best if you're just connecting to some well defined networks KWiFi is fine.
