    Hi,

I do completely agree with you, but, in fact, what is the most
interessant ? I think (for example) a Tibook with OF, without MacOS X,
and with all the specifications known, with Linux inside :-) (I can
    dream, no ?)

What I don't know is, is it possible to find a soft in place of
"OpenFirmware" for such machines ? In case of "yes", it's effectively
interessant (but how much ?), else, Apple hardware + OF + Mac OS inside
is a good alternative ( workaround must I say...).

How much will cost this machine ? I'm not sure this will be interessant.

Very very interessant. I'll read the doc, because I simply never have
take care of this. And I'm an intensive MOL'user (my son, with games, in
    fact).

    I just want to say it's a compromise : Apple hardware + MacOS X (or 9),
and the most important, enough information to can install Linux. (*that
    is* the problem for me).

If ever Apple decide to sell Hardware with Mac OS and give ALL hardware
specs (like before), I'll simply shut up.

Yes ,I'm confused and was particularly clumsy with this. What I've said
is wrong and what you say is a more better view. Excuse-me.

Yes, that's rather what I wanted to say. The "Linux movement" is a
better expression. I wanted both say that Apple was more "open" with
other OS, last year (for example), and the changes are progressives, but
    sure :-(
Soon, I think it will be a problem to install foreign OS on Apple
machines. I really whish to be wrong, but more NVidia, Broadcom,
WinModem -and so on- is not good at all for us...

Me too. And since xinerama is working (thank's Michel Danzer (and all
the Xfree developers), Benjamin Herrenschmitt (fantastic work !), and
Vincent Bernat (for all the contributions he does), my ibook becomes
    very interessant to use.

Yes, I hope so too. To help this ;-) , I've planed to buy soon a
Superdrive Tibook 15" (the one with the radeon9000). A great laptop.
Before, I want to know what is the next generation : not sure, but I
think the new one won't be interessant because of new "hardware
    secrets". Again :-/

Thank you for your very interessant view.

    Best regards
