I recently picked up a power computing powercenter 132 mac clone (604
ppc) running mac 7.5.x with about 32 megs of ram, unknown amount of
cache, and a 1 gig hard drive. It all worked fine.

After installing debian linux, this ppc powercenter 132 mac clone is
totally dead. Upon power on, I get nothing. Is there a way to fix this
problem? Or is my mac now totally dead and only good to be thrown away?

    Thanks.

more lengthy description of path to destruction!!!:

I d/l the debian distribution for ppc and followed directions to get the
    bootx dual boot feature working.

After some trial and error I was able to go through the debian install
routine and install linux on an external 1.6 gig scsi hd.

The first time upon completion of the initial install it would ask me if
I wanted to install some boot loader with the warning that this might
prevent me booting into my original os, so I said no, don't install it.

But it wouldn't boot into linux when I would select it from the bootx
dual boot screen. So I started up the install routine again and this
time I said go ahead and install the boot loader. Then it only booted
into linux and did not give me the bootx dual boot screen, nor any of
the usuall mac starting up screens, like a happy floppy or the booting
    mac os screens.

I am able to remove the original 1 gig internal scsi hard drive and it
works just fine in another mac ppc, even booting up correctly.

Now my power computing ppc powercenter 132 mac clone is totally dead.
Upon power on, I get nothing. Is there a way to fix this problem? Or
is my mac now totally dead and only good to be thrown away?

    Thanks for any help.
